Faith-rooted. Justice-centered. Community-powered.

The Washington Metropolitan Area
Take the first step toward transforming lives in your community. Allies in Healing is a faith-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit committed to connecting underserved faith communities with scholarships for healing professions in the Washington Metropolitan Area. We support the development of culturally competent healers—spiritual, clinical, and advocacy-focused—who strengthen the network of care serving families, congregations, and neighborhoods.
Our programs empower individuals to pursue training in seven essential areas: Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE), Survivor Advocacy Certification, Certification in Disability Advocacy, Phlebotomist Certification, Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), Grant-writing Certification, and Church Leadership. Begin your journey to impact today and join a community shaping the future of care.
“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”
(Jeremiah 29:11 NIV)
What Makes Us Different
Nurturing Callings, Not Just Careers
Most scholarship programs focus solely on academics or workforce preparation. Allies in Healing goes deeper, rooted in interfaith values of compassion, dignity, and community care. We are not just funding careers—we are nurturing callings.
While other organizations often concentrate on a single profession, such as nursing, ministry, or advocacy, Allies in Healing brings together seven healing professions under one supportive umbrella. This approach fosters a vibrant, cross-disciplinary community of healers, where collaboration and shared purpose thrive instead of isolated cohorts.
Holistic Support Beyond Scholarships
Scholarships alone aren’t enough. Allies in Healing combines financial support with pastoral care, mentorship, community circles, and a faith-based network—creating a full ecosystem for growth and healing. Our seven healing pathways respond to pressing needs: gaps in care, advocacy, representation, and access. Every element of our programs is informed directly by the communities we serve, not imposed from the top down.
Many nonprofits fall into flashy spending or unclear priorities. Allies in Healing chooses a different path: lean, transparent, and stewardship-driven, ensuring resources honor both the learner and the calling they pursue.
Leadership Rooted in Community
Allies in Healing is building a Board that reflects the communities we serve—balancing credibility, authenticity, ward representation, denominational diversity, and community voice.
While most scholarship programs focus narrowly on the student, Allies in Healing takes a broader view: we support not only the student but also the congregation, the neighborhood, and the wider ecosystem of care. This holistic perspective ensures that every decision strengthens the whole community.
